Davyhulme is an area in the borough of Trafford, Greater Manchester. Davyhulme is often considered in connection with its neighbouring area Urmston, and the two together have a population of around 19,364 people. The area of Davyhulme is local to The Trafford Centre, and serves other nearby attractions like LegoLand and Trafford Park, as well as Salford and Stretford.

Average local house prices in Davyhulme at the time of writing were £278,548, up 2% on the previous year. The majority of sales in Davyhulme during the last year were semi-detached properties, selling for an average price of £285,229. Trafford General Hospital, originally called Davyhulme Park Hospital, opened in 1929 and became the first NHS hospital in 1948.

Davyhulme Park is a green flag awarded park in the area. It contains 2 large wildlife ponds, 2 Bowling Greens, tennis courts, children’s play grounds and a rose garden.

Davyhulme is also notable for the Davyhulme Sewage Works, one of the largest wastewater treatment plants in Europe and which serves the 1.2 million people in and around Manchester. Davyhulme started life as a ‘sewage farm in the countryside’, treating the city’s wastewater before releasing it into the Manchester Ship Canal. Recently, the sewage works has begung works on a £200 million investment – enabling the plant to replace some of the older parts of the treatment process with modern, controllable and efficient technology. The renovations are also intended to construct a new entrance and access road from Trafford Way, round the back of the Chill Factore and under the M60, to reduce traffic around the Rivers Lane entrance and around Davyhulme.
