Weaste is an area in the borough of Salford, Greater Manchester. Combined with nearby Seedley, the local ward has a population of 12,616 people. Weaste lies to the North of Salford Quays and enjoys good links with the city centre of Manchester thanks to the A57 Eccles Road which runs through the area and connects to the M602.

The majority of sales in Weaste during the last year were flats, selling for an average price of £172,702. Terraced properties sold for an average of £146,605, with semi-detached properties selling for around £193,785.
At one time Weaste was a largely industrial area with a range of different industrial estates across the area. Today, however, Weaste is known for being a green space with notable parklands. St Luke’s Church in Weaste is also a grade two listed building, which puts it among the top 10% of buildings in England. Prominent because of its position and its slender, continental-style spire, it stands on a small green hill beside Liverpool Street – and is known locally as ‘the church on the hill’.
The name Weaste comes from the old French word for ‘waste’ – meaning common land or waste as we still know it today.
Within a very short distance of the area of Weaste, there are many other local attractions of national importance, such as the Imperial War Museum North, The Lowry, Manchester United FC, the Trafford Centre and Manchester City Centre.
Weaste operates on public transport through its metrolink tram station, which connects the area with Eccles and Manchester as well as other local towns and areas.
